Over the last 18 months, the "Raising Awareness on Disinformation: Achieving Resilience (RADAR)" project has been harnessing citizens’ thoughts on disinformation, providing expert insights into protection against disinformation, and fomenting interaction and consultation between both. We especially wanted to focus on building up citizens' agency through training and empowerment, with a focus on encouraging young Europeans to contribute and boost their engagement with and understanding of critical thinking and media literacy. In the lead-up to the 2024 European elections, nothing can be more important that countering the noxious effects of disinformation.

Despite 15 contributions by the WB2EU Network members, it comprises selected op-eds by the WB2EU Network and the Network’s Next Generation Summer School participants. In addition, one article describes the WB2EU project, the WB2EU Network and another one outlines the results and highlights of the project.

At the conclusion of our three-year Erasmus+ Jean Monnet Network project on Europeanisation, democratisation and strengthening of civil society in the Western Balkans (WB2EU), coordinated with the oiip and in cooperation with 15 partners from all over Europe, we want to discuss current developments, obstacles, and perspectives of the EU enlargement and reform process.

While the ambitious objectives outlined in the EU’s Green Deal aim at making Europe the first climate-neutral continent by 2050, national implementation greatly varies depending on local geographies, history, culture, economics, and politics. This book analyses Member States’ and EU neighbours’ national efforts to combat climate change. It subsequently draws on these factors to highlight local challenges, tensions, and opportunities on the road towards climate neutrality. In the context of inter-country dependencies following Russia’s war against Ukraine, it addresses strategic questions regarding EU integration, the transformation of our economies, the reduction of energy dependencies, and public perception of the above. The book also makes concrete recommendations, in various policy areas, on how individual countries and the EU as a whole should deal with the climate crisis.

This book sheds light on how Member States and EU neighbours relate to Russia. It includes their historical, financial and political ties, as well as the public perception of the national population vis-à-vis Russia. The book also presents the reader with concrete aspects in different policy areas, via recommendations on how single countries and the EU should deal with Russia.

The third volume of the book series "The Future of Europe: views from the Capitals" sheds light on how Member States and EU neighbours reacted to the COVID-19 pandemic through the lens of European solidarity, what they expect from the EU, and other Member States, and how they are ready to contribute to common action

The uncoordinated approaches of the respective governments in Central Europe in dealing with the increased arrivals of refugees during summer and autumn 2015 has put the region into the spotlight of media attention. With the closure of the Balkan route in March 2016 and the implementation of the EU-Turkey action plan the numbers of arrivals have decreased. However, those expecting these steps to be the solution of the refugee and migration question will be severely disillusioned. Five independent institutes from Austria, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Slovakia and Slovenia have come up with a series of recommendations to improve cross-border understanding and cooperation. A particular focus has thereby been laid on civil society players, which provided help to refugees in all five countries from the onset of the crisis, but find it difficult to get their narrative heard.
