For 30 years, Austria, Finland, and Sweden have been members of the European Union. The past three decades have been marked by major steps in integration, including the introduction of the euro, the enlargement of the EU by a further 13 countries, and the entry into force of the Treaty of Lisbon, as well as by numerous challenges.
In light of current geopolitical developments, the Union and its member states are under greater pressure to act than ever before. With unity and determination, they are seeking to address current issues, consolidate their position on the global stage, and promote prosperity and security internally.
The European Ministers of Austria and Finland will discuss what concrete steps are required and how an appealing vision for the Union over the next 30 years can be shaped at a joint event hosted by the Oesterreichische Nationalbank (OeNB) and the Austrian Society for European Policy (ÖGfE) as part of the Europa Club Vienna.
