changingTIDE – Together to Inform, Debunk and Empower

ChangingTIDE aims to strengthen citizens’ resilience in the face of disinformation, information manipulation and foreign interference by promoting media literacy and empowering young people to engage in democratic processes. Placing youth at the centre of its approach, the project combines participatory learning, peer exchange and the co-creation of awareness-raising campaigns with expert-driven capacity building as well as structured dialogue with policy-makers.

In your State of the European Union address, you declared that “Europe is in a fight.” Defence, competitiveness and new geopolitical tensions seem to be the inevitabilities of our time. You called us into battle, but what for? According to your speech, to “fight for our values and our democracies.” Of course, we are a Union built on human rights, freedom, democracy, equality, and the rule of law. These values are the bedrock of our identity, but are we really upholding them?

RADAR – Raising Awareness on Disinformation: Achieving Resilience – Final Results

Over the last 18 months, the “Raising Awareness on Disinformation: Achieving Resilience (RADAR)” project has been harnessing citizens’ thoughts on disinformation, providing expert insights into protection against disinformation, and fomenting interaction and consultation between both. We especially wanted to focus on building up citizens’ agency through training and empowerment, with a focus on encouraging young Europeans to contribute and boost their engagement with and understanding of critical thinking and media literacy. In the lead-up to the 2024 European elections, nothing can be more important that countering the noxious effects of disinformation.
